The Killdeer bird is olive-brown colored and has a white belly. It has one black stripe on its neck, one black stripe on its chest, and one black stripe on its head. It has a rusty brown colored tail. It is 8 inches long. It has long wings, and a short beak. Here are some facts about their nest and eggs. The nest is on the ground, and the female bird lays about 4 eggs. The female pretends to be hurt when enemies are close to the nest. She flops on the ground as if her wing is broken.

Lester and I were walking down to the lake and this little Killdeer started flopping around (the far right picture). Lester said, "She must have her eggs somewhere around here", so we started looking and sure enough, there was one little egg on the side of the path. This little bird came within two feet of me, (picture on the far left) flopping around, making lots of noise and then would go away from her egg trying to lead me away from her egg.W

Bull snake crawling into the junipers!

We were in the RV looking out the window and noticed several guys looking down at the ground about 75 feet from our RV. We went out there and I took these pictures of this little bull snake.
